These are the settings that I found to have worked with Loupie’s iPhone 3.

I am very happy that Apple have chosen to sell the iPhone 4 without any  network locks direct from their shop, and when I have some cash I will be getting a black 16gig one.

At the moment I have an old O2 Simplicity £20 rolling contract, on which I get 1200 SMS, 600 minutes of talk time, and UNLIMITED internet, however if I was to change contract, I would only get 500MB of data, 300 minutes, and I would have to pay 20p per picture messaging (used to cost me 4 free SMS…). So on that I am in no hurry to change my service; and as for changing provider, the other providers that have announced there tariffs are all worse than what I have currently.

My only challange will be getting a new ‘micro’ sim to work in my iPhone.

I don’t think I would miss Visual Voice Mail as its not a service I have ever had, so don’t know what the advantage would be.

Other networks should have about the same settings, but also have a look at my post about unlocking a 3G modem, which lists the settings for all the main UK providers.

Thursday last week I got a call from some guy working for an organisation called “Consumer Lifestyle” who are owned by Data Locator Group (DLG).

After searching online for a short while I found the contact details for the Data Protection helpline, after speaking to Nick Hubbard I have now got a copy of my Subject Access Request, and Order History report.

Now the next cunning plan is to hunt down the three company s who sold DLG data of mine and find out just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

I am getting increasingly fed up with the amount of junk mail that comes through the door, so after a bit of a search on Google I found the post.

After a quick run through Paint (yes Paint) I have adapted it for my use:

If it is unsuccessful I will edit it a bit more, and start to charge a £5GBP handling fee for every bit of junk I receive.

The exhibit itself was in a small gallery on the basement level. along with the steam punk exhibit there was a work shop to learn how to make steam punk jewellery and an area where you could play with Maccano.

Apart from the size of the gallery, everything else was really cool. We went for lunch in the (well according to Laces) the Burning Baby, or as the rest of us called it The Eagle & Child. a small pub of No notability at all

The Eagle and Child was once a favourite watering hole of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. They often met for discussion (and argument) over a pint.

On the bar wall is a signed note to the landlord written in 1949 stating that J.R.R Tolkien and C.S. Lewis have drunk to his health. well we mostly stuck to one drink each.

I have had a play with this software before, and based on that trial I have had a go at installing it on my parents computer; in the hope that it reduces the time I have to spend keeping the computer clean.

Deep Freeze works by freezing all the data on a patition and removes all changes made everytime the computer is re-started, to avoid wiping out all userdata I have the Documents and Profile folders on a diffrent patition.

I hope that at the end of my trial that it will have worked as well as I hope it will.

Although for those times support is required I have installed Cross Loop, fundimently Cross Loop is VNC wrapped in an easy to use userinterface that allows you to connect to another computer without needing to open up firewall ports and such; making it easy for parents to allow me to connect to their computer remotly.

As part of the re-installing software I had to choose a PDF application, and as we all know Adobe Acrobat reader is never the sensable choice. Previously I have used Foxit’s Reader which has been light and always done what it says on the tin, being that it claims to be:

• Foxit’s NO BLOAT PDF Reader
• Small download, fast, accurate rendering

However what it doesnt tell you is that every stage of install it will try and install crap you dont need, and that you have to make sure you de-select from the install. I am not sure how this behavure sits with other people,. but I consider it very anoying.

• Microsoft – No I dont want any extra crap when I am forced to use MS software

After subscribing to the Project52 idea; I wondered what else I could do. and the DayZero Project Sounds interesting;

The Challenge:
Complete 101 pre-set tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple challenges such as New Year’s resolutions or a ‘Bucket List’. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

So while I am thinking about my list of 101 things I will list the ones I come up with below, with a view to start the challenge on the 1st March 2010 which puts my end date 1029 days.

Project52 is a personal challenge geared toward getting fresh content on your website. The goal is to write at least 1 new article per week for 1 year. Because we all know what it‘s like to procrastinate on our content. A website is not just a fresh design that can be uploaded to the web and forgotten about!

And because this site so often is devoid of new content I have decided to sign up both this site and PhilipMcGaw.com to the challenge. This all coming from some one who has posted about 5 times in the last 3 years, so please wish me luck.

All in All it was Awsome and I would recommend that you go and see the Cruxshadows at least once not to mention that the ticket price would have been worth paying just to see Voices of Masada or a Ayria; we didn’t get to see Greenhaus; but that was because we were eating; and Emily had said that they were not that great anyway.

Which all in all leads me onto my point about copyright infringement (please note that because a Picture is worth 1000 words, I have included the article that appeared in the Redbridge Guardian in its completeness, as its not online. (please click on for larger)

As stated in the previous blog post Ruth was involved with the Woodhouse players Little Mermaid. and I took some photos for, including the one on the right, and if your looking at it thinking you have seen it before, well yes, its the one in the news paper clipping. On the Wood hose players page the following is stated "Images by and © Skippy – http://PhilipMcGaw.com"; why is it that the Redbridge Guardian have failed even to state that the image was provided by the wood house players for inclusion in the article, there is space for the copyright, or reference directly below the image. I would not have minded having something like "image provided by Woodhouse players" as I gave the images to the WHP, but as it is the source of the image is unclear.

Which brings us back to Gods Copyright; in the conversation between Ben and me, he asked if because Ferris had stated

1. New Job! – since the 28th of November, I have been working as an Assistant Engineer with a company called Kembrey Wiring Systems Ltd. There main product is boxes filled with wires, and connectors to go on British Aircraft, the job is not too bad, but can be a little slow, and monotonous at times.
2. Loupie’s Panto, Ruth was in a rendition of The Little Mermaid over Christmas, (you may have been told about it) and i took some of the photos that have since appeared on the Woodhouse Players site
3. Ruth and I pent Christmas and New year together, (your not having all the details :p).

Some of you who read parts of my Blog (and/or know me in real life) may know I like Technology, Big Toys, and Landscapes; Well imagine combining them all.

On my Birthday Ian, Manda, Dave and I were up in the Canadian City of Niagara, watching the falls, (from both the land and from a Boat). since we were only there for one day we thought we really should stay there till after dark and watch the falls being lit up.

as we were eating in a local eatery place, a group of people were gathered marking the campaign to stop domestic violence, and as part of there publicity, they turned the falls a Purple colour.

One of the guys we spoke to said that we could have a go at playing with the lights if we went up to the door on the back of the little tower beside the restrant, so up we went, Manda got nominated for the job of bouncing at the person who opened the door,

After being let in and shown the control panel and given a basic run down of how to change the lights we were left with 21 4kW discharge bulbs (each is 390 million candle power)

Unfortunately changing the waterfalls to Red, White and Blue strips proved to be too much of a challenge (Union Flag Colours).

Hopefull Ian will put some photos up and i will be able to link to them.

I will try to get some more photos online, (possibly via face book as it allows for photo tagging)

So 2 hours of sitting on a train in swindon, and Ben has lots of work to do.

The two Nabaztags were to mark Ruth and I’s three years together. as a web controled rabits, they comunicate with servers in France, however this does not stop people writing there own functions for them, Nabaztalk is a forum set up for developers. and has a list of API interfaces, also you can get cloths and other things for your Nabaztag from Nabzone, however i am looking to make mine a coat out of Chainmail.

Managed to get up to Manda and Daves, Manda was giving my car evils because she thinks that my ka is trying to keep us from her (see previous exsploites). but Got to Brampton safely
Things learnt today:

1. A ford ka takes about 4 liters of water in its radator (always carry more!)
2. clean the central hub of your breakpad bit thing and the center of the spair wheel before putting the two together.
3. the spair wheel center part is NOT circuler, and is a bitch to take off.
4. Manda reads my blog, and moans about my spelling.

Leaving the NRM we ran mostly accross the countryside to Lockaby, accross some really nice countryside, my poor little car found some steap and random roads, (including a few fords). Ruth and I stoped in the Gretner Green Sevices, and being that we were now officialy in Scotland, i chose to have a drink of Iron Bru, Ruth didnt know that Iron Bru is made in Scotland from girders, But we cant hold that against her now can we?

When we goto to lockaby we found that the power was out at my Nannas house, and that the opven had died.

after helping my nanna around town we journied north, along strange rural backroads to Carluke, to stay with my name sake, Phil Cave. in the afternoon, we took ruth to see Lanark Loch, and New Lanark.

On Wednesday we went from Gainsbourough to Lockaby via the NRM, Ruth got really exsited about the prospect of seeing Thomas the tank engin, (some thing to do with it being half term)

I tryed to pick up a copy of Windows Vista from the school of computing, but they are not issuing it as of yet *pouts* (was after vista Ultimate 64, because despite vista being a nightmare, it might be usefull to learn it as i use computers so much). after picking all the stuff back up and lobbing my little car down country roads, we ended up on our way to Manchester, to see the wonderfully sexy Hannah, via Minehead (Ruth took it apon her self to feel nostalgic, and i felt the same). got to manchester safely, without being too late for my little hanskie. got to goto the old UMIST union to sign Kris and Myself up for the Bogle Stroll.

we stayed with tim and carly for the weekend, on the sunday we braved the rain to go for a lazy forsum trip down the cost into the backwards lands of cornwall, to grab a pint at the famous Blue Peter Inn, for some inisplicable reson this provider of fine westcountry ales failes to provay a fine west country cider, so three pints of strongbow were ordered up, and a coke for the little ones we draged with us (thats you carley). and went for a wonder around the small village of Polperro.

when was the last time you could make a rain man, or rain angels, or rain ball fights,

I am not sure but Ben thinking that heavy rain and hail are better, well its just a lie pupetuated by a soft sothener. (Ruth’s INER-CITY London school was closed yesterday due to the snow)

The day consisted of three churches, the first where the Ceromoney was held, the Second was Zissi Restrant in Cheltnham which is in a church, and the third was the location of the Reception in the evening.

Well i do plan to grow my hair back out, and back into a ponytail, I also plan to keep going to the gym, and if i go back to uni to take slightly more care of my body, and try and stay in a less round shape

I hadent remembered how much of a technical chalange boldering is, Climbing is easer, its the challange of getting to the top using hand and foot holds, where as boldering is pure machanical techneiqu and strenth, the aim being to navigate around a wall, the problem being that you have to use a lot more strenth. ruth doesnt like boldering much, after falling off a boldering wall.

Next time we will have to take [Kris](http://kristalikowski.blogspot.com/) and Ashely, and get Ruth belaying kris. or get her to get a Gri Gri, and get myself a new harness as my lil 26″ one is just the right size for Ruth, and not for me.

on wednesday i put my lil [ka](http://skippy.org.uk/mot/) in for two new tyres, and the removal of the wheel locking nuts (they had broken the key), got the ka back, and all was good, on friday brought the ka, and my mum to London, left the ka out side [loupie's](http://loupie.co.uk) and took mum up to camdon, and then back towards paddington, so she could go home, met Loupie from her school, and went back to hers, packed the ka and left for the long drive to Manchester, the Ka had other ideas, three long London rush hour miles latter, came to a stop, with steam drifting out of my engin, pulled over to find a cold radator (not a good sign) and a hot engin, which was “rattaling” (fule is being ignighted before the sparkplug fires, due to compresion ignition)
so after spending £80 on joining [greenflag](http://www.greenflag.co.uk/) i had my car towed back to loupie’s for “free” (I have 10 miles of free recovery, unlimited times*)
so after franticly phoning Emily who we met at [Manda and daves engagement party](http://skippy.org.uk/engagment/) asking for her to see if she could find a way for us to get north of manchester, we re-packed down to an amount we can carry, and ran for a train, to crash on Hannah’s floor.

As it turns out Emily and Dave ended up draging us up the moterway to Carlisle, (thanks again!)

Got to the wedding on time, Dave looked very hansom, and when manda did turn up (not before wanting to beat the hair dressers shop to a pile of rubble) she looked absalutly stunning! a wonderfull Anglican church service, and off to the breakfeast, at the [Crown Hotel](http://www.crownhotelwetheral.co.uk/), for food, and the reception,

as i am writing this, its now monday morning, and Loupie and I are back at hers, and just about to look at sorting the car out, (another £100 / £150 pounds :S). and Manda and Dave will be on there way to Mauritius for their Hunnymoon.

Well we got to Amsterdam to find that some one had killed them selfs on the line at Rotherdam, and that the train would be diverted, fine we thought, untill we got to Amsterdam Airport Station to find that the train was going no further, so after franticly talking to the Station Manager, managed to get a Taxi payed for the 60ish Km to the port, and of we set to catch our ferry,

once on board, we sat around and waited half an hour for all teh other train passagers to arrive, I managed to blag a look round the bridge which was cool.

Got back to Stratford, to find that there was no tub serves because some one else had desided to dispartch them selfs from this plannet, so got a lift to Ruths with her dad.

All in all had a great holiday, and would love to go on holiday again soon

Later on we went on our tour, it covered all the details of the history of the city, not just the history of the xxx industry. We visited the Prostitute information center, where ruth bought a book about Feminists within the industry,

Also in the Red Light District was some one trying to demonstrate Sex and Porno, so i am not sure how that one works…
We also found that ruth has a faviot new shop, its a Fantasy shop by the name of Chimera, it had loads of small things inside, Fairys, jewalry, and Knick nacks, along with Gothesk cloths that Ruth was impresed by.

Also on our tour of wider Amsterdam we came accross some cool Furniture, and other odd stuff it was a kind of designer shop, but some things looked very cool

After tea, and with rain putting us off walking too far, we went to the Torture Musiem, and Ruth quickly worked out that some ideas were just tooooo bad after all.

on the way home (and after a bottle of red wine) we walked through more of Amsterdam.

After being reminded that ruth doesnt know how to ride a Bike, we went off to a Bike rental place to pick up a Bicical made for two. where Daisy Ruth and I cycled back to the camp site.

From there we caucht the dutch flyere, 08.18 to Harwitch, where we changed to the ferry, only to find out that half an hour in to the trip that Ruthie feels ill on boats if she can not see out the window, after a good 3 hours on the ferry we made it to Hook Van Holland, then spending another 45 minuts in a que waiting for a customes person to check our passport (something that was done before we left the UK) standing next to a woman, i felt the urge to hit regarding her language, and in the end only Chastised. (she was a Coach passanger, who had got in the wrong que, and Probaly missed her coach (she came off the ferry as a foot passanger, rather than re-join her coach))

Once out of Customs changed to a Double Decker train, acrross holland to Amsterdam, where i found out that i had forgot to print off the details pretaining to how to get to the camp site, so in anoter que for a stupidly long time, this time for Tourist information. before finding out we want tram number 26, finaly ariving at the Camp site after a 15 minut walk, dumping bags, having a nice lay down, and relax before tea.

The Bogle Stroll is a 55 mile walk around manchester, for those of you who think your hard, have a go, I did it once, 2 years ago, and i compleated it

These Two People are compleatly mad, and walked round the course stupidly fast, they were atleast an hour and a half faster past checkpoint 10 than the pair behind them

As for Sheep, Well walking home a few nights ago i managed to aquire an inflatabnle sheep, however it has only two holes in it, one to put air in, and one which lets air out (the latter is not a wanted hole)

The idea of putting the Temisoc.org logo in was rejected due to the dificulty level, and because this would be most of the workers first pumpkin, so instead the Retro Pumpkin face was chosen as a easy to acheive design,

Who knows, tommorow may make a Termisoc.org pumpkin now we have exsperance, we will use the logo so wonderfuly modeled by [Ben](http://benalee.co.uk)
