So After taking my MOT, Insurance, and Drivers licence to the police station, and having to prove my innocence, for a offence they can not prove has been committed, but is also statistically unlikely to have been committed by me. (You need insurance, and an MOT, to get a tax disk, and mine is only a month old [This is on my car])

Today I have been playing with getting with my drivers licence, and now have sent it all off to the DVLA to get it updated to a full pink one,

While filling out my D1 form I noticed a section on it relating to being an Organ Donor; While I was in NY, Manda, Ian, Dave and Myself were discussing the campaign for opting out of organ donation. Now I am opposed to implied consent, however the other three thought that implied consent is a good idea.

I am all for organ donation, as such on my drivers licence I have consented to my organs being available for transplant, but since they asked for me to Opt-in, and I agree with organ donation, I did.

Manda, Dave, Ian, and I have now spent two full days in New York, We are staying in a Hotel called the Carlton Arms (http://www.carltonarms.com), the entire insides of which are covered in art work, (will try to get some good photos)

Wondering round the city is interesting, the entire area is based on a grid system, which should make it easy to navigate, but not convinced as yet.

Today’s half plan is to go and see what central park looks like, as i have seen it in a few movies (one notable is the 10th kingdom (IMDB). and it looks extensive, i am not sure how it compares in size to the royal parks, but no harm in looking.

Tommorow i have an Interview with Hill McGlynn, in Bristol. they are a consultancy firm, and i am not sure what sort of clients they have beyond the railway environment being there fortay,

Saga my poor under powered server is a 1.4GHz 256mb beast, running Windows 2000, and Ubuntu AT THE SAME TIME, all without me worrying about slow down, why? well  not just because the virus checker only runs at 3am? or because i don’t have a CDRW attached?

Oh and 64Bit? bugger that, it still doesnt work with XP, yes i have tried, Repeatadly to get it to work, and its a waist of time, Windows XP64 is a pile of crap, which is why i still use XP32 on my 64bit computer

The Hose is Hosed again,

Take one Ford Ka, with a broken heater bypass solenoid, look at the thing, and go, fcukin hell, how does that go in there? well the answer is not as simple as it first may appear. If you ever need to move house, ask the people at ford to come and pack for you, as they can probably get the contents of the house (including the kitchin sink) inside a ford ka’s boot (Students take note!).
work out its behind more screws, and bolts than soft mick, and keep looking. yes its that small silver bit with the two pipes comming out from behind that large black lump of plastic. and yes you will need to hunt down the six screws holding that bit of plastick in place, and remove them all, to get too it, (they are on the moter side of the plastic).
As you can see from these two photos, the problem with the modual is apparent, and could posibly have been much worse had i been on the moterway. and hadent seen the steam.

The correct procedure for fixxing the thing is to attach the two ends together with a bit of 15mm OD copper pipe and re fill the system with water (as my lovely assitant is doing in the third photo)

Well we got to Amsterdam to find that some one had killed them selfs on the line at Rotherdam, and that the train would be diverted, fine we thought, untill we got to Amsterdam Airport Station to find that the train was going no further, so after franticly talking to the Station Manager, managed to get a Taxi payed for the 60ish Km to the port, and of we set to catch our ferry,

once on board, we sat around and waited half an hour for all teh other train passagers to arrive, I managed to blag a look round the bridge which was cool.

Got back to Stratford, to find that there was no tub serves because some one else had desided to dispartch them selfs from this plannet, so got a lift to Ruths with her dad.

All in all had a great holiday, and would love to go on holiday again soon

Later on we went on our tour, it covered all the details of the history of the city, not just the history of the xxx industry. We visited the Prostitute information center, where ruth bought a book about Feminists within the industry,

We also found that ruth has a faviot new shop, its a Fantasy shop by the name of Chimera, it had loads of small things inside, Fairys, jewalry, and Knick nacks, along with Gothesk cloths that Ruth was impresed by.

Also on our tour of wider Amsterdam we came accross some cool Furniture, and other odd stuff it was a kind of designer shop, but some things looked very cool

After tea, and with rain putting us off walking too far, we went to the Torture Musiem, and Ruth quickly worked out that some ideas were just tooooo bad after all.

on the way home (and after a bottle of red wine) we walked through more of Amsterdam.

After being reminded that ruth doesnt know how to ride a Bike, we went off to a Bike rental place to pick up a Bicical made for two. where Daisy Ruth and I cycled back to the camp site.

From there we caucht the dutch flyere, 08.18 to Harwitch, where we changed to the ferry, only to find out that half an hour in to the trip that Ruthie feels ill on boats if she can not see out the window, after a good 3 hours on the ferry we made it to Hook Van Holland, then spending another 45 minuts in a que waiting for a customes person to check our passport (something that was done before we left the UK) standing next to a woman, i felt the urge to hit regarding her language, and in the end only Chastised. (she was a Coach passanger, who had got in the wrong que, and Probaly missed her coach (she came off the ferry as a foot passanger, rather than re-join her coach))

Once out of Customs changed to a Double Decker train, acrross holland to Amsterdam, where i found out that i had forgot to print off the details pretaining to how to get to the camp site, so in anoter que for a stupidly long time, this time for Tourist information. before finding out we want tram number 26, finaly ariving at the Camp site after a 15 minut walk, dumping bags, having a nice lay down, and relax before tea.

Untill today i would have said my Ford Ka could be filled on £25 – £27, and that driving from Plymouth to Swindon on less than half a tank would result in me being towed home, and if i went via Watchit i would have been pushing it from Bristol, however, Plymouth, Watchit, Trafic Jam, Swindon, work, home, seems to be doable, as for my tank it swallowed 36.5 litres, (40 litre tank) So i guess my engin was snifing the vappers out of the tank, because it must have been at the bottem of the tank, as i was driving around on the red line for ages, and the needial bottemed out ages ago.

NUS Delegate – Job Description

In a nutshell…

UPSU affiliates to the National Union of Students (NUS) along with pretty much every other students’ union in the country. NUS works just like a students union where its policies and priorities are debated and agreed by its members. Once a year, just before Easter, around 1000 delegates from all students’ unions in membership of NUS gather in Blackpool for the Annual Conference. This conference not only agrees policy for the National Union but also elects the National Executive Committee for the coming year. UPSU is able to send 13 delegates to this conference due to the number of students that we represent. 1 of these delegates will be an ex-officio member of the Union Executive Committee as this is a prime representative responsibility of their role. This means that there are 12 open places for any student currently registered at the University of Plymouth to stand and be elected by represent the views of UPSU nationally.

The Price On Music

“What is your opinion on illegally downloading music?”
I’ve posed this question to many people and have received a variety of answers. Some think it’s wrong and should not be done, others think it’s okay as long as you aren’t downloading millions of albums a night. Some think there’s nothing wrong with it at all.

• “The answer is in your question: It’s ILLEGAL. It is wrong, therefore do not do it.”
• “I do it and if I had the money I’d buy the cds too”
• “I think that people should be able to download. It makes them listen and then they might go, ‘Yeah lets buy the album, this isn’t so bad.’ It’s a kick up the music industry’s arse – which is needed! Music is too expensive and some shit they come out with sucks. Bring the prices down & allow downloading.”
• “I personally have discovered so many bands that I wouldn’t have normally, but I do go out and buy the CDs if I like what I hear.”

“So which side are you on? For, or against?”
I’m all for it: I’ve been downloading music for years. I have discovered so many bands that had I not been downloading music, I would of never heard of. If I download something from a band and I like their stuff, I will (assuming I have the money) go and buy their albums.

This leads me on to another aspect of why people download more then buy CDs: Money

CDs are over-priced. Even if you’re against downloading, you have to admit that. I’m not about to go and waste my money on an album by a band I hardly know, because I could pop it in the CD player and hate it! So that’s

Now dont get me wrong, i didnt fail by much, just TWO stupid mistakes, and i knew i had done the first one as soon as i had done it.

2nd Time lucky, just got to book a new test (just got to get the date) and re-sit the test.

“POLITICAL CORRECTNESS HAS gained a ‘vice-like grip’ on British society and is threatening freedom of speech, a think-tank claimed.

‘Intolerant and sanctimonious’ PC attitudes cause more harm than good and have led to censorship, rising crime, poverty and poor discipline in schools, according to experts.

PC views have also created Muslim ghettoes which produce young men who ‘commit mass murder against their fellow citizens’, said Civitas – known as the non-political Institute for the Study of Civil Society.

Civitas member Anthony Browne said factually correct truth was often ditched in favour of PC truths which relied on an argument’s emotional appeal rather than on the facts. He writes in the book, The Retreat Of Reason: ‘PC has now become a threat to society. By closing down debates, it restricts the ability of society to tackle the problems that face it.

‘Political correctness promotes a victim mentality, discourages people from taking responsibility for their own lives, suppresses free speech and distorts debate, leading to bad policies being adopted. ‘If someone is poor because they are lazy, ill-disciplined, addicted to benefits and resentful of those who aren’t poor, then encouraging them to blame other people rather than emulating them will in fact just perpetuate their poverty.’

Tory MP Philip Davies, of the Campaign Against Political Correctness, said Mr Browne had ‘hit the nail on the head’.

He added: ‘We are unable to say certain things, not because people will take offence, but because the liberal elite rules that these things can no longer be said.

‘Political correctness is not about being polite to each other.

‘It is about restricting freedom of speech and we are now witnessing a generation of people who are afraid to say certain things.’ ” – Metro 03-01-06

PC Facts or Fiction

Aderents of PC routinely blame the exsplosion in Britians HIV infection rate on teenagers having unsafe sex, Anthony Browne points out. But he says the ‘factually correct truth’ is the rise was triggered largly by the arivbal of HIV positive African immigrants, a fact accepted by the Public Health Laboratory Service. Woman’s pay is lower than men’s because of sex discrimination, the PC brigade claims, when infact it it is because ‘women make a diffrant choices and give up work to rase a family’. A recent increase om anty-semitic attacks is due to whites acording to PC, when in fact many attacks ‘are commited by Muslim youths’; And African poverty is blamed in the West not failing to cancel debts, when in fact much is ‘due to bad governance and despotism’

So we have to ask ourselfs do we want to hide behind PC in fear of being sued for telling the truth?

As for Sheep, Well walking home a few nights ago i managed to aquire an inflatabnle sheep, however it has only two holes in it, one to put air in, and one which lets air out (the latter is not a wanted hole)

Just when i thought I would be safe, I got tied to a chair and had my hair un-ceromonusly removed from my head, and left with no use for hairbands,
