Dave Everett of the K9 Builders Club has created a set of files that allow you to cut the K-9 body from Styrene board, Izzy has built one of his, and her blog also has a number of reference images on it.
I am tempted to build a number of the flat large parts from Laser Cut Plywood (Hacman has an A4, and Fred Aldous in Manchester have an A1 laser cutter), For the base plate I will probably goto Manchester FabLab and with a sheet of 18 mm Plywood and machine it on the ShopBot.
I have found this PDF with some dimensions on it, for rough ideas of how big my K9 will get: K-9 Dimensions
I have mirrored the David Everett files here as I can’t find the location I acquired them from anymore:
- Dave Everett’s K-9 body Assembly Instructions
- Dave Everett’s K-9 Head Assembly Instructions
- K9 Base Assembly Instructions
- K9 Control Panel Assembly instructions
Most of the PDFs are A1, and the others are A4, Keep reading for an update on the machining, and the electronics.
