More boat hunting

On Saturday before Fiona’s house warming party; I went for a trundle up north to look for Crick Marina‘s Canal Boat Sales

While looking for Crick Marina I came across ANBN Narrow Boat Brokerage; One of the Boats they have on offer was nbAnnieD, while she is a little outside my price range (she was the lowest priced on on their boards) I was very impressed with the brochure and amount of information presented to customers.

The brochures is full colour printed on A3 glossy paper, I have scanned the one From nbAnnieD as an example.

I was unable to look at nbAnnieD since she was not in the marina.

Mithril is a fictional metal, originally used in J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth fantasy writings. It is described as silvery and stronger than steel but much lighter in weight. The malleability, lack of tarnishing and use of the metal in jewellery suggest some similarity to the non-fictional metal platinum, while its strength and lightness suggest titanium. The author first wrote of it in The Lord of the Rings, and it was retrospectively mentioned in the third, revised edition of The Hobbit in 1966. In the first 1937 edition, the mail shirt given to Bilbo was described as being made of “silvered steel”

nbMithril is a 1990 41ft Cruiser style narrowboat, Built & fited out by M & N and is in good condition, ready to cruise, Priced at £28500 however despite the awesome name; I am not sure about the fittings.

nbMrMayor is a 1999, 35ft cruiser stern narrowboat built and fitted out by Liverpool boats, she has a fixed double, with a second double bed in the shae of an L shaped sofa, she is a lovely compact boat with light interior; and has had one owner since new. £27000

Two thing you cant see from the photos, one being that the foot of the bed is covered by a shelf about 8″ above it; that may be interesting for getting in and out of bed; and the other is a lack of solid fuel stove.

nbSmilingPlum is a 2001 42ft Traditional style narrow boat built by R & D Hulls, and fit out George Blades. She has been recently blacked and is again over my budget at £33000

Also on the Saturday, when I got to Fiona’s we had a wonder down to Harefield Marina, where Fiona said that they had some boats on offer; on the board at the marina, the boats included nbNewtonmere:

Deatils of nbNewtonmere or any of the craft at the marina are not on their site; but the details are as follow:
