Last time I was without employment (back before CCFE) I managed to get an SL2 form from the Job Centre, and I used it to get my CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme), and my 17th Edition (BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations Qualification: City & Guilds 2382-10 Level 3); neither of which I have really used in my professional employment, however the 17th Edition is worth having.

This time round I have used my SL2 form to gain the required certificates for SIA (Security Industry Authority) in Award in Security Guarding, and CCTV Public Space Surveillance. I know I have passed the Award in Security Guarding; but I have just finished the CCTV Public Space Surveillance; so wish me luck on the outcome of that one,

If I pass the CCTV I will be applying for my SIA licence in both, so that should I need some extra cash, I have some extra hats I can wear.
