Having not much else on Loupie and I went for a walk to Camden, Starting from Stratford Underground station, we had hoped to take the Greenway. and join up with the canal; however there was a slight diversion required.

Stratford end facing west; oh and while we are standing her looking at this; how is this for joined up thinking?
IMG_1030
Yep to go from one entrance of the Greenway to the other crossing a road; rather than putting the crossing between them; they forgot to put a crossing there, the crossing is about 100m south; so thats an extra walk / cycle for people who are using the preferred traffic free route. ah well that is typical joined up thinking from a councel.

I think this is the ‘Old River Lee’ there are far to many parts of it to make sense all the time

Part of the ‘View Tube’ on the Greenway, the entire thing is made out of Shipping Containers,

Views of the Olympic Park from View Tube

At the top of the view tube is a viewing platform (well I guess its what its there for) underneath is an expensive coffee shop (well it is 1. The Olympic Park; 2. London)

Leaving the Greenway we move onto the River Lee; well we would have done had the tow path not been closed.

Haggerston Gas works, not far from here, we came across the Sandwich Barge. We have had a nice refreshing OJ from her before; Lorraine is awesome and friendly; stop at her barge and have a tea, or drink; oh and some cake is good too 😀

Just Googling her quickly has shown that some people at British Waterways were not happy; but its lovely that she is still around.

Awesome name for a geeky boat; (we have no idea if she is a geeks boat).

Ruth was feeling a bit thirsty; and had had enough of walking, we stopped at The Stags Head, this quiet little pub serves real ale cider; They didn’t serve Strongbow, only real cider (two kinds).
